Where is Ramstein AB?

Ramstein AB is located near the city of Kaiserslautern.  The city of Kaiserslautern is located in the German state (a.k.a.: Bundestaat) of Rheinland-Pfalz.  Here is a map showing where Kaiserslautern is:

Historical Note!

A number of changes have taken place in the Air Force over the last several years. For the most part, the majority of these changes have taken place in the Continental United States (CONUS).  However some major changes taken place within the overseas commands, like the United States Air Force In Europe (USAFE).  At Ramstein AB, the mission of this base has completely changed.  When I was there the major unit (a.k.a: "Host Unit") was the 86th Tactical Fighter Wing.  The host unit is now known as the 86th Airlift Wing.  If you desire to visit the public web sites for these units, click on the symbol below:
